Cinderella is the heroine of Disney films and is the second Disney princess. It is based on a European fairy tale of the same name, of which there are many variations. It is based on the French version.

Elaine Woods provides the voice/singing voice of Cinderella (the Disney original), Jennifer Hale provides the voice of Cinderella in the sequels, and Tammy Tappan provides the singing voice of Cinderella in Cinderella III. Cinderella is the first Disney Princess to have siblings (albeit siblings) and she is 19 years old. Cinderella is the first Disney Princess married into royalty (she married Prince Charming).

Aurora (Baby Names)

Aurora is the heroine of Sleeping Beauty , based on the classic fairy tale involving a beautiful princess, a sleeping witch, and a handsome prince. Aurora is sixteen years old. Mary Costa provides the voice/vocals for Aurora, giving her a British accent. The original story is much darker than the Disney version.

Princess Ariel’s nickname comes from her father, King Triton, and is a title she shares with her six older sisters. She acquired the title of Princess Consort through her marriage to Prince Eric, though it is unclear if he was a Prince Regnant (presumably), the King’s son, or both.

Yasmine (Baby Names)

Jasmine is the diarist of Aladdin , its two sequels, and the TV series. Linda Larkin provides the voice of Jasmine in all animated iterations of Aladdin, Leah Solanga provides the singing voice of Jasmine in the original Aladdin, and Liz Callaway provides the singing voice of Jasmine in the sequels.

Jasmine is the daughter (and only child) of the Sultan of Agrabah, who is traditionally titled “Shahzadi Sultana” (Princess). She is American of Powhatan descent, and is the first Disney Princess to have two “princes” (John Smith and John Rolfe, though only the former is an official Disney Prince).

Pocahontas is the second princess (after Jasmine) whose singing voice and speaking voice are provided by two different voice actresses. Irene Bedard and Judy Kuhn provide the voice and vocals for Pocahontas in both films, respectively. Mulan is (to date) the only Disney Princess who does not hold the title of Princess in one form or another. However, she was awarded a non-noble title by the Imperial Consul. Her eventual marriage to General Li Shang (also a non-noble) does not give her any titles either.

Tiana is the protagonist in The Princess and the Frog . Tiana made history as the first African American Disney Princess. Anika Noni Rose provides the voice/vocals for Tiana. She is the third to marry her surname. Born Commoner, Tiana became Princess Consort upon her marriage to Prince Naveen, eldest son and heir apparent to the King of Maldonia. She is the newest of all the princesses due to her living in the 1920s in New Orleans and she is the first American and the first black princess.

Rapunzel (Baby Names)

Rapunzel is the protagonist of Tangled and the short film Tangled Ever After, based on the Brothers Grimm Rapunzel story . Like Aurora, she has golden hair, was born into her surname, and was removed from her parents’ custody as a child, only to be reunited as a teenager. She is one of the most willful princesses and her favorite weapon is a frying pan. Live-action Princesses are the original Disney Princesses but in their live-action remakes. The current group is Aurora, Cinderella, Belle, Jasmine, and Mulan.

Aurora (Baby Names)

Aurora was the first live-action princess and appeared in the 2014 Sleeping Beauty spin-off, Maleficent (film). In the movie, she was cursed by an evil fairy called Maleficent and raised by the three fairies until she was 16 years old.

On her sixteenth birthday, she met a young prince named Prince Philip, and was also going to tell her “aunts” that she was going to live on the Moor with Maleficent, where they developed a mother-daughter like relationship. Princess Elena is the hero in her movie “Elena and the Secret of Avalor”. She is also the third unofficial Disney Princess to have a coronation, after Elsa and Anna. The reason she doesn’t qualify to be in the lineup is because not only was her movie out in theaters, but also because it’s from a TV series.

Kidagakash “Kida” Nedakh , Milo’s Return , is the Princess, and later, Queen of Atlantis. Due to the box office failure of her film, she was not made into the official line-up. She would have been the oldest princess due to her age being 28 in human years and also the first woman to become queen on screen.

Attina, Alana , Adella , Aquata , Arista and Andrina

Attina, Alana, Adella, Aquata, Arista, and Andrina are Ariel’s older sisters. They are the daughters of King Triton and Queen Athena, making them princesses of the Atlanteans. Ariel’s sisters only appear briefly in The Little Mermaid and its sequel, but they each have a more prominent role in The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Beginning , as well as the spin-off TV series. They are not official Disney Princesses because they are not main characters.

Eilonwy (Baby Names)

Eilonwy (Eye-lon-wee) is first introduced as the main heroine in The Black Cauldron . Based on Eilonwy from Wells’ novels “The Book of Three” and ” The Black Cauldron ” by Lloyd Alexander. The film was Disney’s first PG-rated film.

Despite being a princess in her own movie, she never became part of the official Disney Princess franchise. The reason was due to the fact that the movie was rated PG mainly due to the movie’s lack of success and copyright issues. Being twelve years old, she would have been the youngest Disney Princess had she been introduced into the franchise.

Giselle (Baby Names)

Giselle is the main protagonist of Enchanted and the former princess of the kingdom, Andalusia. Inspired by the Disney Princess franchise. Portrayed and voiced by Amy Adams. Despite the success of her film and she was initially intended to join the line-up, plans were quickly dropped when the company realized they would have to pay Amy Adams a fee to use her likeness. In addition, it is her friend, Nancy, who ends up marrying the prince.

Megara (Baby Names)

Megara (Meg) also referred to as Meg, is the female triangle from Disney’s Hercules . She is the love interest of Hercules and is voiced by Susan Egan. It was mainly inspired by the character Megara from Greek mythology.
